This page introduces the Meld Software Development Kit (SDK) for TI's BeagleBoard, architected around the MontaVista Integration Platform (MVIP).
The SDK provides MVIP 6.1, GCC 4.4, and a ready-to-build Integration Platform project for the BeagleBoard. For convenience, the SDK also contains prebuilt images: the U-Boot bootloader (u-boot.bin), Linux kernel (uImage), and root filesystem for the target device.
This SDK contains the pieces you need to compile, link, and execute this distribution for the Texas Instruments BeagleBoard. It comes with no warranty either implied or inferred.
Kernel: Linux 2.6.29 tree from Tony Lindgren's linux-omap and Kevin Hilman's linux-omap trees, with additional MontaVista bug fixes and patches
Libc: glibc 2.9
Bootloader: the generic U-Boot 2009.08
Hardware: tested on B7, should work for C2 boards as well
Userland: based on MontaVista

Prebuilts fail on XM
I tried the Prebuilt uImage and as expected it fails on a BeagleBoard XM rev. A2.
