Connecting

HI,

I am a Windows programmer.  I also develop for Windows Mobile, Android and BlackBerry. I am using an IP Camera.  It has the usual cgi scripts on it which I can access to control the camera functions.  What I would like to do is browse the files on the device and perhaps upload my own cgi scripts onto the device.  With a mobile device such as Android (etc) I can use certain development tools such as Eclipse.  What tools are there availble for a Windows Developer to access and connect to an IP camera that has embedded Linux installed?

Thanks!

What NAND file system does MVL6 support best

We have 256MB of non-managed NAND flash.

JFFS2 would work, and we have experience with it in a NOR environment, but legend has it that its performance suffers as the device size increases.

YAFFS seems to get the most Google hits, but is not part of the Linux mainline.

UBIFS seems to be in the Linux mainline.

LogFS also gets some press?

Suggestions?

Specify a different version of UDEV [iMX35 MSD]

By default, the iMX35 build uses udev-124 by default. The MSD also contains udev-154, which I need to use (124 does not have libudev, which I need to use.)

How can I tell the build to use udev-154 instead of 124?

Bitbake Debug/Release Image with different Kernel config

Hi

I'm using MVL6 and bitbake/devrocket.

I have a build image - let's call it my-image.bb and a debug image that inherits my-image.bb

It's called debug-my-image.bb

The debug image simply includes all the required tools for running gdb, ssl and some other things such as test harnesses.

In local.conf I have specified a path to a kernel config file - let's call it my_kernel_config.

However, I would like the debug build to use a different config as the debug build uses a number of kernel options that the release build doesn't.

Is it possible to specify that my-image.bb uses config a) and debug-my-image uses either a different config file (my_kernel_config_debug) OR overrides settings to enable features that are disabled in config a)

Hilscher PROFiBUS: cifx-50-dp & Error opening Channel! State = 0x800A0003

Hello All,
Has any one had any success in running the cifxsample program provided by Hilscher ?

Details: MVL6
Collection: intel-atom-z530-moblin-v2-1-2.6.31-1002031022

Configured the Card under SYCON.net: note: 'Currently no online connection to the Linux target available'. Sigh.

I have uio_netx & uio included, i.e netX UIO Kernel Module, cifX Userspace Library & cifX example program built as per the manual.

When I run the example program, the EnumBoardDemo() is ok, SysdeviceDemo() is ok. However I get a failue at the ChannelDemo() routine.

ChannelDemo() called
---------- Communication Channel demo ----------
Error opening Channel! State = 0x800A0003
----------------------------------------------------
BlockDemo() called

--- Read / Write Block Information ---
Error opening Channel!

Any thoughts?
I am awaiting response from the manufacturer as well..

TIA,
Dave.

How to decrease the matchbox window manager start up time

Hi,

I have a OMAP3530 board on which our custom linux disro is working. I installed X server and matchbox into it. I just started matchbox, it is working fine but it is taking time (around 1 mins) to load. Please let me know how to reduce it.
